I first started art as most artists have, on my school work. Back then I did Stick Figures all over my sheets normally trying to escape the page. Sadly though due to still life. which I disliked greatly, I came to the assumption that I hated art. During this time though I began writing stories thanks to my father's influence which helped me maintain my artistic mindset.
Once I hit my last year of public school my class had a maternity leave substitute teacher for the year Mrs. To. She was a Professional Animator who had previously worked on a cartoon show called "Hey Arnold!". I owe her a great deal, since she reminded me of what I loved about art. After nudging me for a while I created an artwork which caught her eye and she pushed for me to join the Art Club. Eventually I agreed to give it a try. During this time I learned a lot of the many skills I still use today such as thinking in 3D shapes and the lightest possible touch technique.
At the end of the year I created a teddy bear drawing which amazed me due to how much I had improved in such a short time. It is from this that I learned that if you truly enjoy doing something then you will excel at it naturally.
